Leadership Prep Foundation Inc. (LPF) hold in common the perspective that the development of leaders in the community is paramount to fulfilling its needs by creating opportunities for diverse cultures connection and civic engagement that preserves communities. In this spirit, “The Taste of Coco-Bahamas” is a segment of the revitalization project being constructed in the historically and culturally rich West Coconut Grove area of Miami with the support of Stirrup Foundation Inc. The history of “the Stirrup Family” stems back to the early 1800’s with waves of immigrant’s settlers from within and outside the United States particularly coming from the Bahamas Islands. Unfortunately, presently at this time local residents are experiencing neighborhood gentrification by Reality Developers and neglect by its local political leaders.
It is with this purpose in mind under the auspices of Leadership Prep Foundation (click link here to learn more about LPF) to create a vibrant work development plan that will reenergize the West Grove District by creating jobs for local youth and residents, while simultaneously restoring the West Grove relationship with the Government of the Bahamas in the cultural, educational and tourism initiatives perspectives.
